Dal 19 al 27 settembre 2026, Miasino e la storica Villa Nigra sul Lago d’Orta ospitano la prima edizione di MiasinArt, il nuovo Festival della Fotografia organizzato da OPENEYESLAB. Quindici fotografi selezionati sono protagonisti della mostra principale, dedicata al tema “Connessioni – oltre il visibile”.

Sono felice di partecipare alla mostra principale con una selezione di fotografie della mia serie Tradizione e coesione – Il Carnevale Egetmann di Termeno.

Ogni due anni, il piccolo paese altoatesino di Termeno esplode in un carnevale selvaggio, ancestrale e coloratissimo: rumore, fumo, maschere, corpi, ironia, ritualità ed eccesso si mescolano in una festa di straordinaria intensità emotiva. Le mie fotografie, tra street photography e documentazione, cercano di restituire la forza primordiale, l’ironia e la vitalità travolgente di questo antico rito.

Der Egetmann-Fasching in Tramin

Vom 19. bis 27. September 2026 findet in Miasino und der historischen Villa Nigra am Ortasee die erste Ausgabe von MiasinArt statt, eines neuen Fotofestivals, das von OPENEYESLAB organisiert wird. Fünfzehn ausgewählte Fotografen präsentieren ihre Arbeiten in der Hauptausstellung zum Thema „Connessioni – oltre il visibile“ („Verbindungen – jenseits des Sichtbaren“).

Ich freue mich, mit einer Auswahl von Fotografien aus meiner Serie Tradition und Zusammenhalt – Der Egetmann-Fasching in Tramin an der Hauptausstellung teilzunehmen.

Alle zwei Jahre verwandelt sich das kleine Südtiroler Winzerdorf Tramin in ein wildes, archaisches und farbenprächtiges Fasnachtsspektakel: Lärm, Rauch, Masken, Körper, Ironie, Ritual und Exzess vermischen sich zu einem Fest von außergewöhnlicher emotionaler Intensität. Meine Fotografien bewegen sich zwischen Straßenfotografie und Dokumentation und versuchen, die ursprüngliche Kraft, die Ironie und die überwältigende Lebendigkeit dieses jahrhundertealten Brauchs einzufangen.

Tradition and Community – The Egetmann Carnival in Termeno

From 19 to 27 September 2026, Miasino and the historic Villa Nigra on Lake Orta will host the first edition of MiasinArt, a new photography festival organised by OPENEYESLAB. Fifteen selected photographers will present their work in the main exhibition, dedicated to the theme “Connessioni – oltre il visibile” (“Connections – beyond the visible”).

I am delighted to participate in the main exhibition with a selection of photographs from my series Tradition and Community – The Egetmann Carnival in Termeno.

Every two years, the small South Tyrolean wine-growing village of Termeno erupts into a wild, ancestral and colourful carnival spectacle: noise, smoke, masks, bodies, irony, ritual and excess merge into a celebration of extraordinary emotional intensity. My photographs move between street photography and documentary photography, seeking to capture the primal force, irony and overwhelming vitality of this centuries-old tradition.

Wow, the appetizer photo is really interesting, if not even slightly scary. The cat - I hope very much so - is a stuffed animal, is it? Anything else would likely trigger a 'shit-storm', so better answer my question with a clear 'YES', dear Ralf!

Excellent shot, as obviously also super stunning photo motive/object!

Haha 😜. Of course I cannot certify that the cat was stuffed. I did not dare to touch it! Thanks for your comment. The Egetmann Carnival is amazingly wild and colourful, certainly worth a visit! I hope I shall see you at the exhibition in the historic Villa Nigra. I shall circulate the times for the opening ceremony (although the OpenEyesLab movie already gives a good idea).
